Ink & Clay: Art & Science Collide

My 5ft mixed media “Access Point”, and 40x30 MM “Moon Dust” were dropped off today for the Ink & Clay:Art Meets Science/Kellog Gallery Cal Poly Pomona’s juried group exhibition. When I cams across this art call I knew that these two would be a perfect fit. Astronomy meets art. Mt.Shasta has 2 paintings underneath, yielding an interesting texture. The moon has 1 painting underneath. I’ve been up-cycling my old work in attempt to do my part. I havent bought a new canvas in a while. Geeze, it’s been hard. To create dimension in space/stars, I use acrylic ink in various colors and so many layers, I lose count. These are gloss to bring out the dimension of space. I tested out a satin varnish to cut glare, but in the end gloss had to happen in order to portray the depth. This exhibition opens end of August and ends in November. I’ve added the info. Beautiful gallery space. #kelliethomaswalker #artist #femaleartist #contemporaryart #calpolypomona #kelloggallery #artwork #art #artwork #painting #longbeachart #writer #screenwriter #juriedartshow #california #californiaart #decor #artcollector #artcollectors #artcollective #mixedmedia #moon #moonart #moondust #accesspoint #shasta #mtshasta #geometricart #astronomy #astronomyart
