My family and I went camping (social distancing at its greenest!) for over a week in the Eastern Sierras. Out of cell range, creeks, mountain lakes, laughs, and countless shooting stars (and waaaaay too many satellites orbiting). It’s what we needed to recharge. We went with my sis in law (in pic) and her husband and son whom have been part of our quarantine.

Artistic process

Part of my process is kinda funny. This painting will be a relatively realistic underwater serene scene. The pale will be sand. The other part will have reflection lines. BUT, something in my brain HAS to add in abstract elements to it then I build around that adding in elements of realism. I do that with my sketches too. I’ve tried to go straight in and start with pure realism. I end up pissed off At myself and my work. WRECKED Screenplay

Wrote three scenes today. Decided to start again  the novel portion in parallel.  I thought with isolation my writing would be stunted, but it’s actually the opposite. Delving into studying screenplay format since I’m a newbie. Guys, we have so much material at our fingertips to study and learn. Go learn! At night I study scenes of shows, movies. I study artists, painters, I study my husband because he’s incredibly hot (HA! Checking to see if you’re paying attention!), I study how my daughters are coping with planet wide isolation. Working just with titanium white 50:50 ratio with gloss medium then add a dab of Phalo blue (red shade). Makes a beautiful highlight. Adding in the underwater reflection lines or starting too. Making dinner at the same time.
