It was a red day for me. So this big boy is HEAVY. It’s an old one which has a ton of pumice stone medium mixed in. Probably weighs 10lbs. Not sure what I’ll do next. It’ll come to me-always does.

I added in sheer violet. Heavy body paint ratio 1/2 paint to 1/2 Golden Gel medium. If you don’t have retarder you’re going to need to wet it down often as the gel dries fast I went around the Red and magenta borders with the violet to soften. Inner corner eye, bottom lip, outer rim of nostril, chin-then swipe down. Added violet around blooms. Over the whiteadded in water to my brush. Finished commissioned Cherry Blossom panels

My collectors who commissioned the large ballerina paintings commissioned two 48x30 cherry Blossom panels for their beautiful home.

Busy summer

I've severely neglected posts on my blog.  My girls we're home and we have a new Airdale Terrier puppy named Boe keeping us busy.  My nephew and his beautiful bride were married. We flew our daughters to Seattle for my birthday, then drove down to Eugene, Oregon for th wedding. The blue painting below is their wedding present from us.

Off to their homes

Said goodbye to two of my paintings this past weekend.  I love these pieces so it's was extremely hard.  

Commission 36x36. Based on my 48x48.  The collector loved the larger one but didn't have the space. Thick textures on the blooms

And these are my old yucky floors. My husband installed new ones. Now the kitchen is next.

Updating my new work

I've been a busy woman.  Working on 7 of the Geisha Series. Add in being a mom, I've horribly neglected updating my site.  In the next few days I'll be revamping it with the new direction I am taking with my work.  I am focusing on figurative and portraiture with a modern mix up. I can still take commissions based on previous work.   Here's a glimpse of the new 48x48's. They do have finished edges, but a floating frame could work nice.
