12P Pons-Brooks Comet, Mt. Shasta/Milky Way, Angel in Space, Open Sky

Tightening up the Pons-Brook comet. Wdded in green, it need to dry before i paint in the aurora. I added in more jagged rock to the mountain, and more stars wnf radiation aurora on the others. 4 in one day. I spent hours adding layers to the (Mt. Shasta) mountain’s texture. I also added a tgird layer to the stars and Milky Way’s arm. I am aware our galaxy’s arm should be angled upward, but i took creative liberty and placed it horizontally. I worked a little on my screenplay adaption, and did some research as well. Mt. Shasta/Milky Way

A week ago I took one of my 5ft paintings and started a re-paint. I grew up with Mt. Shasta, and I’m pretty sure that most who live that gorgeous mountain feel the same connection I have (and still have). I’m painting the arch of the Milky Way galaxy over the peak. The old painting’s texture is popping through, giving it an edge. This is FAR from done. My husband has agreed that I can have part of our garage for a studio, which helps when painting big boys like this. Oh—and my girl is home from her 9 month deployment! I’ll be posting pics I’ve collected from their visit! I’ll be pulling in the sides to tunnel the view. Pouring Into Christmas

Oh, for POUR sake! While recovering from a cough and sinus infection, I suck at writing and intricate painting/drawing, but it’s important for me to keep my creative flow moving. This is when a pour comes in handy. I prepped the canvas the day before with a texture undercoat with white peaks and transparent grey for it to pop through. I’ve said this many times, but I’ll say it again, the materials used are pricey, even if the detail hours aren’t as abundant.
